The HN4482 N set of 3 type B OSJD coaches is an excellent reproduction of the Deutsche Reichsbahn (DR) coaches from Era IV (1971-1990) developed for international travel. With their green-beige paint scheme and typical construction, these cars represent the efficiency and comfort of the Eastern Bloc in cross-border rail traffic.
The OSJD wagons, developed for use in international passenger transport in the countries of the Eastern Bloc, were standardized passenger wagons designed for both domestic and cross-border transport. These coaches offered a robust design and were used for long-distance connections. The version shown here consists of a 1st class coach (A), a 1st and 2nd class coach (AB) and a couchette coach (Bc), which were typically used on international routes.
In Era IV, the Deutsche Reichsbahn increasingly relied on international cooperation within the framework of the OSJD (Organization for the Cooperation of Railways). The standardized wagons were painted in the characteristic colors of green and beige and could be found in many international train formations.
