As an experimental locomotive of the VES-M Halle, it was a technical masterpiece and is now considered a legend among railroad enthusiasts.

Historic elegance and technical substance

Built in 1919 as a Baden IV h, it ended up in the Soviet occupation zone in a spectacular locomotive swap and was completely reconstructed in 1960. Equipped with state-of-the-art technology such as the Riggenbach back-pressure brake, a new combustion chamber boiler and a 2'2'T34 standard tender, it was used from then on as a high-speed locomotive - with speeds of up to 150 km/h.
