For decades, the CC 72000 was the backbone of French diesel operations in heavy passenger and freight service. This model is a completely new design featuring a metal frame for optimal running characteristics and traction. All axles are driven by a 5-pole high-performance motor with flyweights. Current is drawn from all axles—ideal for reliable operation.

Digital lighting functions via Next18 interface

Although delivered in analog form, the locomotive is prepared for digital retrofitting thanks to the NEM 662 “Next18” interface. Digitally controllable lighting functions with LED technology are already integrated:
