The T172 was built from 1961-67. With a 17 hp engine, two-speed transmission, a new hydraulically operated boom in sheet metal construction and twin tires on the rear axle, it was a further development of the T170.
The delicate, detailed printed kit reproduces a prototype in blue-grey paint, matching our fuel trade theme. The front axle is steerable, the body can be rotated 360° and the boom can be tilted. This is, true to the original, extended by an intermediate piece and can optionally be equipped with a hook, tine or shell grab. Due to the longer boom, it can be used for loading the hopper silos of the coal loading (Art. 11 466). Single tires for the drive axle are included for loading onto a low-sided wagon. Elaborately printed: tow bar and warning beacons on the crane superstructure.
