The Beckert “Oberwiesenthal Station” model kit in TT gauge brings a piece of Saxon railway history to your model railroad layout. As the terminus of the famous Fichtelberg Railway, Oberwiesenthal is located in Germany’s highest-altitude town, right on the border with the Czech Republic. The kit recreates the station’s architectural appearance from the 1920s—with a stuccoed clinker brick structure and wood paneling—and includes both the main building and the freight handling area.
The station served as the final stop on the narrow-gauge railway, which takes over from the standard-gauge track at Cranzahl. Numerous renovations over the decades are reflected in this model, which was constructed using laminated, waterproof-printed sheets, pre-cut window and door frames, and laser-cut wood and floor panels. Laser-cut windows with transparent glazing ensure an authentic overall appearance.
For a clean build, Beckert recommends using sharp scissors, a (steel) ruler, a craft knife, and a quick-drying all-purpose adhesive. The kit is intended for experienced model builders who value accuracy to the original and meticulous craftsmanship.
With a width of 222 mm, a depth of 93 mm, and a height of 111 mm, the building is ideal for TT layouts of any size. It is particularly well-suited for branch line stations, terminal stations, or narrow-gauge sections in mountainous or border regions.
The Beckert 02-03-9-TT Oberwiesenthal Station is a successful combination of historical authenticity, intricate laser-cut technology, and detailed craftsmanship—a must-have for model railroaders focused on East German railway history and lovingly designed architecture.
