The Preßnitztalbahn is a narrow-gauge railroad with 750mm track gauge and runs between Steinbach (near Jöhstadt) and Jöhstadt. Between 1892 and 1984, the Preßnitz Valley Railway ran from Wolkenstein to Jöhstadt over a total length of around 23 kilometers. The museum railroad, which still exists today, runs along the higher 8.5 km of the former line. It follows the course of the Preßnitz and, due to the incorporation of the formerly independent villages of Steinbach (1998) and Schmalzgrube (1992), is always located in the area of the mining town of Jöhstadt.
This building kit depicts a functional building of Steinbach station, as it was and sometimes still is found at many railroad stations. The simple building with its brickwork lower storey and plastered upper storey blends in perfectly with various railroad stations. On one of the long sides there is a loading ramp with a small staircase, which makes it possible to use the building as a loading and unloading warehouse. 3 gates on the opposite side allow the realistic transfer of goods from rail to road or vice versa.
