Are you looking for an authentic model of the DR narrow gauge in Era III? The Bemo 99 742 brings back an important piece of German railroad history as an exclusive mold novelty - handcrafted, finely detailed and technically on a modern level. After a break of over 20 years, a class 99.73-76 standard locomotive with riveted water boxes in the design of the early Deutsche Reichsbahn will reappear in 2026.
The locomotives built by Hartmann and Schwartzkopff were equipped with electric lighting ex works or at the latest in the early 1930s. The model shows locomotive 99 742 in the typical Era III configuration: original fittings, no gas boiler on the tender, riveted water boxes, pre-heater, air-controlled angle valves on the cylinder and the large turbo generator. The makeshift smokebox door is a striking detail of this vehicle.
The locomotive is produced as a high-quality small series model in traditional white metal and brass construction. The gearbox is made of die-cast metal, the drive is powerful and even across all driving and coupling axles. A bell-shaped armature motor with flywheel mass ensures smooth running characteristics - even at slow speeds.
With a length of 121.2 mm over buffers, the locomotive is perfectly suited for realistic replicas of DR trains on Saxon or Thuringian narrow gauge lines of Era III. Couplers for self-assembly are included. Gauge conversion to H0m is not possible with this model.
The Bemo 99 742 is a successful combination of classic form, contemporary technology and precise model making - ideal for narrow gauge enthusiasts and collectors of exclusive steam locomotives. Pre-order now!
