Modernization with character: refit for a new generation

Between 2021 and 2025, the Matterhorn Gotthard Railway (MGB) had nine of its HGe 4/4 II locomotives extensively modernized. This included replacing the main components, retrofitting LED headlights and a new air conditioning unit between the bogies. Locomotive 105 - part of the original FO series - was the only one to be fitted with official "Glacier Express" advertising graphics as part of this measure and is therefore truly unique.

Mountain performance as standard - with cogwheel drive

The model has a functional Abt system cogwheel drive and is therefore designed for realistic steep tracks in H0m. All four axles are driven, supported by a powerful 5-pole motor. The die-cast chassis ensures high driving stability. If you want to convert the locomotive to H0e, you can do so - however, the rack and pinion operation is then omitted.

Equipped true to the original and customizable

The locomotive is equipped with LED headlights in the direction of travel and has a Next18 digital interface for individual decoder retrofitting. Brake hoses, heating couplings and grab irons are included for self-assembly - ideal for model railroaders who value an authentic appearance.
