Description

The Bemo 1262563 H0m HGe 4/4 II 3 "Employee" cogwheel locomotive of the Matterhorn Gotthard Railway (MGB) is a special edition that commemorates locomotive 3, which was placarded with different employee motifs on both sides. This cogwheel locomotive belongs to Era V-VI and is equipped with a 5-pole motor suitable for rack-and-pinion operation.

In 2019, MGB launched a comprehensive refit program for a total of 9 of the 15 existing HGe 4/4 II rack locomotives, which were built between 1986 and 1990. All locomotives 101-108 (ex FO) and locomotive 1 (ex BVZ) were modernized by 2023. Locomotive 2 was demolished, while locomotives 3-5 will continue to be operated without overhaul. Locomotive 3 was specially equipped with various employee motifs.
