The H0m Ge 4/4 I 606 "Kesch" electric locomotive is an impressive reproduction of one of the legendary locomotives of the Rhaetian Railway (RhB). The model embodies the technology and appearance of this locomotive between eras IV and V - equipped with digital sound, LED lighting and numerous prototypical details.
Based on the successful BLS concept, the RhB adopted the single-axle drive system for its new electric locomotives from 1947. Between 1947 and 1953, a total of ten Ge 4/4 I series locomotives (no. 601-610) with 1560 hp and a top speed of 75 km/h were put into service. They were successively modernized and received, among other things, shuttle train control, new driver's cabs and the characteristic red livery. Locomotive 606 bears the name "Kesch" and was used particularly frequently in front of the "Bernina Express" - a high-quality passenger train service from Chur via the Albula line to Pontresina.
The model has a powerful 5-pole motor, a digital interface in accordance with the MTC21 standard and factory-fitted Digital+Sound. The LED top lighting and separately switchable driver's cab lighting ensure an atmospheric operating atmosphere on the layout. Thanks to the finest paintwork and printing, the prototype is also visually superbly reproduced.
