Are you looking for a powerful cogwheel locomotive for your H0m layout? The Bemo HGe 4/4 II 109 is the perfect model for anyone who wants to realistically reproduce the modern mountain rail traffic of the Matterhorn Gotthard Railway (MGB). This locomotive is exemplary for the refit modernization of the former FO and BVZ cogwheel fleet - now with contemporary technology, striking design and complete digital equipment.
Between 1986 and 1990, the Furka-Oberalp Railway (FO) and the Brig-Visp-Zermatt Railway (BVZ) procured a total of 13 HGe 4/4 II cogwheel locomotives. After the merger to form the MGB, these powerful all-rounders were thoroughly modernized. Locomotive 109 - originally the BVZ's HGe 4/4 1 - was part of this comprehensive refit program. Visible changes: LED headlights, a new air conditioning unit between the bogies and an updated paint scheme.
The model is fully cogwheel-compatible and is based on a robust die-cast chassis with power consumption and drive across all four axles. The Abt rack and pinion drive is fully functional - ideal for authentic runs on steep gradients. The locomotive can be converted to H0e, but then loses its ability to run on the rack.
The locomotive is equipped with an ESU locomotive sound decoder, cab lighting, LED headlights and Next18 interface. A 5-pole motor ensures smooth running. Brake hoses, heating couplings and grab irons are included for self-assembly and allow individual detailing depending on the layout style.
With the Bemo HGe 4/4 II 109, you can bring modernized cogwheel technology to your model tracks - reliable, powerful and true to the original. Secure it now and become part of the current MGB operating image!
