With the Bemo 1659111 H0 electric locomotive "Heidiland Express" Ge 4/4 III 641 of the RhB, Era V, you can present a stylish piece of railroad history from the Swiss Alps on your model railroad layout. This electric locomotive is an example of the successful expansion of the Rhaetian Railway's tourist rail service in the 1990s. In use in front of the "Heidiland Bernina Express" from Landquart via Davos and Filisur to Tirano, it embodies comfort, a scenic experience and a uniformly elegant design.
The model of the Ge 4/4 III 641 impresses with its faithful reproduction in the characteristic red/dark brown color scheme of the "Heidiland Express". The clean printing, fine engravings and intricate details on the roof and on the fan grilles underline the quality of the design. The LED top lighting with white light change also brings the model to life - even in analog driving mode.
This version is analog, but equipped with a Next18 interface (NEM 662) and can therefore be easily converted to digital operation. The LED lighting depends on the direction of travel and ensures a harmonious, modern appearance. Thanks to the precise drive mechanism from Bemo, the locomotive also impresses in analog operation with its smooth running and excellent power consumption.
The Ge 4/4 III locomotives were developed in the 1990s as powerful universal locomotives for the RhB's meter-gauge network. In conjunction with the EW III and EW IV standard coaches, which entered service in 1983 and 1992/93 respectively, it was possible to introduce the "Heidiland Bernina Express". This second Bernina composition provided an attractive connection from Landquart to Tirano and made the Heidiland region more accessible to tourists. In the peak season, the train usually consisted of seven carriages - an impressive sight on the mountain route.
The locomotive can be optimally combined with the matching RhB standard coaches and is ideal for realistic Era V train compositions. It is designed for a minimum radius of 360 mm and is therefore predestined for medium to large H0 layouts. The in-house coupling holder ensures a secure connection with other vehicles in the Bemo system.
The scope of delivery includes the Ge 4/4 III 641 electric locomotive with analog operation in the "Heidiland Express" design, including LED lighting and Next18 interface, ready for operation on H0 DC systems.
The Bemo 1659111 Ge 4/4 III 641 is the perfect model for friends of the RhB who value harmonious Era V trains and authentic design. Thanks to modern technology and the possibility of digitalization, the model is suitable for both classic analogue railway enthusiasts and model builders who want to digitally expand their locomotives at a later date.
