The Bemo 3022832 H0e 970-350 passenger car is a detailed reproduction of a Saxon bogie car with a tin car body from Era III of the German State Railroad (DR). This model allows model railroad enthusiasts to realistically depict the atmosphere of the early 1900s on their layouts.
Between 1907 and 1911, the Royal Saxon State Railroad (K.Sächs.Sts.E.B.) put a total of 66 bogie cars of the series 345 K to 346 K and 366 K to 429 K into service. These wagons had a total length of 13,360 mm and a bogie spacing of 8,100 mm. Originally, the car bodies were built as boarded wooden constructions without the skylights that were common at the time. In the 1930s, the Deutsche Reichsbahn-Gesellschaft (DRG) began to modernize some of these carriages with sheet metal cladding in order to increase their durability and reduce maintenance costs. Most of these carriages were taken out of service between 1967 and 1972, but some examples were preserved and can be seen in museums today.
