Are you looking for a typical Reichsbahn locomotive of the late steam locomotive era? The Brawa 40093 shows the class 65.10 in the condition of the 1970s - specifically the locomotive 65 1073-9 from 1975, with modernized components such as the Giesl ejector and new boiler feed lines. This model in H0 scale impresses with the finest detailing, digital interface (PluX22) and high fidelity to the prototype - ideal for Era IV enthusiasts.
The class 65.10 tank locomotives were a central component of local transport on the Deutsche Reichsbahn. Developed as part of the new construction program from 1951, they proved their worth particularly in commuter service. Locomotive 65 1073-9 embodies the modernized state from 1975: with Giesl ejector, wet steam regulator and new boiler feed lines - typical for the last decade of use of this series.
With 88 machines built, the series was widely used. It was characterized by good acceleration, high load capacity and its characteristic appearance. They were in active service until the end of the 1970s before they were gradually replaced by more modern traction units.
Brawa relies on a multitude of prototypical details for the 40093: The filigree smokebox door, wind deflectors with correct corner rounding and the finely reworked wheel hubs perfectly reflect the original condition. The engine position allows more space in the driver's cab, which enables additional interior fittings. The coal box is also available in two versions - with and without toolboxes.
The model is prepared for digital operation and equipped with a PluX22 interface. Thanks to the drive located in the boiler, the view through the driver's cab remains unobstructed. The maintenance-free LED lighting including white/red light change ensures realistic effects - and can be supplemented with additional light functions if retrofitted with a decoder.
The Brawa 40093 is based on revised model technology with newly designed kinematics of the trailing bogie, revised controls and modernized running gear. This ensures smooth running characteristics - even in tight radii and with demanding layouts.
