The DRG BR 98.10 tender locomotive is an H0 model from the popular manufacturer BRAWA, which comes from Era II and bears the road number 98 1035. The model is particularly characterized by its detailed and epoch-accurate appearance and also impresses with additional features, such as chassis, boiler and water tank made of die-cast zinc, individually attached metal or impact-resistant plastic handlebars and a filigree control system.
Information about the prototype: The Bavarian GtL4/4 served as the basis for the class 98.10, which was built as the 98.8-9 series until 1928. The boiler and engine were adopted largely unchanged, but the running gear was extended by a trailing axle. This allowed the accommodation of larger supplies than the old GtL4/4 and a 5 km/h higher top speed. From 1929 to 1933, a total of 45 of the locomotives classified as class 98.10 were produced. The supplier of all the locomotives was the Krauss company in Munich. A striking feature of the first 33 locomotives was the built-in feed water cleaner, which did not prove successful and was later removed.
