Are you looking for an authentic shunting locomotive for your Era II layout? The Brawa 40682 brings a piece of German-Austrian railroad history to the model railroad format with the steam locomotive 92.22. Based on the BBÖ series 178 and later as the DRG series 92.22, this model impresses with its solid die-cast zinc construction, analog operating reliability and digital retrofit options.
After the "Anschluss" of Austria in 1938, the locomotives of the Austrian Federal Railways (BBÖ) were taken over by the German State Railways (DRG). The locomotives, originally class 178, were redesignated as class 92.22 and were given new road numbers from 92 2211 to 92 2294. These compact tank locomotives were used tirelessly in shunting and local traffic in particular.
The Brawa 40682 model is made of die-cast zinc for the boiler, water tanks, chassis and wheels - a design that ensures excellent running characteristics. In addition, there is a filigree control system, multi-part lamp housings and period-appropriate lighting with light change. Spring buffers and close coupler kinematics round off the authentic overall picture.
Designed in the direct current Analog BASIC+ version, the locomotive is already prepared for locomotive sound and a smoke generator - ideal for model railroaders who run in classic analog mode but would like to upgrade to digital in the future. Thanks to the built-in flywheel mass, the model runs particularly smoothly and evenly, even at slow speeds.
