The Brawa 40875 H0 steam locomotive BR 57.10 combines historical precision with the latest digital technology. The model shows the freight locomotive of the Deutsche Reichsbahn-Gesellschaft in Era II with all the important technical and visual details. With a built-in sound decoder, light change and preparation for a smoke generator, this locomotive brings the experience of heavy freight trains to your H0 model railroad layout.
The BR 57.10, originally known as the Prussian G10, was built in large numbers between 1910 and 1924. With a total of 2,358 units produced, it was one of the most important locomotives for heavy goods traffic. The locomotive was used on lines with a weaker superstructure but high traffic volumes and proved to be extremely reliable and versatile.
Important regions of operation included the Reichsbahn directorates of Essen, Wuppertal, Erfurt, Hanover and Kassel. The G10 also quickly established itself in Bavaria - cities such as Augsburg, Nuremberg and Munich benefited from its enormous tractive power and efficiency. Its robust construction made it an indispensable part of the rail traffic of the time.
The Brawa model is largely made of metal, which gives it a high degree of stability and durability. The exact reproduction of the prototype can be seen in the finely detailed printing and paintwork, the realistic running gear and the precise reproduction of the driver's cab. The built-in close coupling kinematics in accordance with NEM allow flexible coupling with other wagons and locomotives.
The maintenance-free LEDs provide a prototypical light change with a two-light headlights signal that changes depending on the direction of travel. The built-in interior lighting gives the driver's cab additional realism and makes the model an eye-catcher even in the dark. The flicker-free lighting is guaranteed by a stabilized power supply.
The model is equipped with a high-quality sound decoder from Döhler & Haass. The 16-bit technology enables the realistic reproduction of typical steam locomotive sounds, including the driving noise, the blowing off of steam and the characteristic shunting sounds. The model is compatible with all common digital systems such as DCC and Mfx and is supplied with a locomotive card to simplify operation.
The locomotive can be driven from a minimum radius of 360 mm, whereby a radius of 420 mm is recommended for optimum running characteristics. The built-in flywheel mass ensures smooth running characteristics and realistic movement dynamics. Four traction tires guarantee additional grip, even with heavy loads. The model is also prepared for the installation of a Seuthe No. 20 smoke generator, which perfects the steam experience on your layout.
The combination of faithful reproduction, extensive digital equipment and excellent running characteristics makes this model the perfect addition to any H0 model railroad layout. Whether as the draft horse of a heavy freight train or as a representative collector's item - the BR 57.10 impresses with its versatility and attention to detail.
The model requires only minimal maintenance. The robust materials and maintenance-free LEDs ensure a long service life. It is recommended to clean the running gear regularly and check the smoke generator to ensure a long-lasting steam experience.
The Brawa 40875 H0 steam locomotive BR 57.10 is a perfect symbiosis of historical precision and digital technology. With its authentic sound, high-quality workmanship and flexible expandability, it is an indispensable model for every model railroad enthusiast.
