The Brawa 40995 H0 steam locomotive 01 008 is a first-class replica of the legendary pre-series locomotive of the 01 series. With a built-in sound decoder and numerous digital extras, this model offers an impressive driving experience and brings Era II to life on your model railway layout.
The 01 008 was handed over to the Deutsche Reichsbahn-Gesellschaft (DRG) on January 10, 1926 as one of the first ten pre-series locomotives. The pre-series locomotives (01 001-010) were built by the companies Borsig and AEG and were ahead of their time. Many lines and railroad depots were not yet prepared for the axle load of 20 tons, which is why the possible uses were initially limited.
The striking differences between the pre-series locomotives included the longer driver's cab and design details on the frame and technology.
