The Brawa 40998 H0 steam locomotive 01 001 offers a realistic and powerful driving experience on your model railroad layout. This highly detailed replica of the first German unified express train locomotive from Era II combines historical authenticity with state-of-the-art technology, including a built-in sound decoder and numerous digital functions.
The 01 001 was the first class 01 locomotive to be delivered and was manufactured by Borsig in 1926. It ushered in a new era in German express train transportation and became known for its high performance and reliability. Initially, there were still restrictions on its use due to the high axle load of 20 tons, but these were quickly overcome by the expansion of the rail network. The locomotive is designed for a minimum radius of 360 mm, although a radius of 420 mm is recommended for optimum running characteristics. The four traction tires guarantee excellent traction even with heavy trains. The smoke generator of the Seuthe No. 20 can easily be retrofitted to simulate the steam exhaust and make the driving appearance even more realistic.
