Description

Due to the great demand for shunting locomotives on the one hand and the beginning structural change on the other, the Deutsche Bundesbahn developed the V60 series. The first prototype in 1955 was followed by 941 further locomotives over the next eight years. Its reliability and robustness helped the DB's last newly developed bar diesel locomotive to achieve true cult status and make it indispensable to this day at many stations or even in mainline service.
