From 1955, the V 60 was developed as a modern bar diesel locomotive to meet the increasing demand for shunting services. Its reliability, versatility and robust design made it the irreplaceable backbone of operations at many German Federal Railroad stations - an image that significantly shaped Era III.

Analog operation with LED lighting and light change

The Brawa 42440 is ideal for classic direct current operation (2-wire DC). It has maintenance-free LED lighting with red and white light changes depending on the direction of travel. Interior lighting provides additional realism in the driver's cab. The PluX22 interface allows later installation of a decoder for digital operation.
