Brawa 42778 H0 diesel locomotive BR 261 'Gravita', SGL, Ep.VI Product Details

Description

After a short development period, Voith Turbo Lokomotivtechnik presented the first member of the Gravita® family at InnoTrans 2008. Five different performance classes are planned here, from the four-axle Gravita® 20BB to the "chick", which goes by the name of Gravita® 5BB and only has two axles. Although the vehicle only existed as a prototype and had not yet been extensively tested, DB Schenker opted for the Gravita® 10BB in its 2007 tender for 130 locomotives. The Gravita 10BB locomotives are now in operation on German tracks at Northrail. The DB locomotives commissioned are in use throughout Germany under the class designation BR 261. In addition to Northrail, a further 5 locomotives have been delivered to Switzerland. To continue this success, the next larger sister of this series, the Gravita® 15D, was presented in Berlin in 2010. Although only 1.2 m longer than the Gravita 10BB, it has an output of up to 1800 kW and is therefore suitable for both mainline and shunting service. All locomotives built by Voith Lokomotivtechnik are also suitable for multiple traction.
