Brawa 43239 electric locomotive BR E75 der DRG, Ep. II (incl. sound) AC current/AC Product Details

Description

About the prototype: With the class E75, the Deutsche Reichsbahn-Gesellschaft attempted to produce a further development of the E77, which was to impress with better driving characteristics. The electrical equipment was left largely unchanged, but the E75 was based on a one-piece vehicle frame with the axle arrangement 1'BB1'. However, these changes were only partially convincing, as a result of which the maximum speed of the E75 differed from that of the E77 by only 5 km/h.

The locomotives were mainly used in southern and central Germany for both freight and passenger services. In 1943, most of the central German locomotives were transferred to the Bavarian network (in exchange for E77s). As a result, almost all E75s were owned by Deutsche Bahn after the war, with 2 locomotives ending up in the Soviet occupation zone. One of these was too badly damaged and the other was given to the Soviet Union as reparations. The models that remained in West Germany were used until 1972 and were regularly modernized.

About the model: The Brawa model corresponds to the condition of Era II before the modernization of the German Railways after the war. It is characterized by a high level of detail and finely crafted individual parts. This includes the very thinly worked grab irons, the very detailed running gear, true to the original and accurate printing, as well as functional pantographs. In addition, the engine room and the roof equipment are reproduced true to the original. The frame, wheels and linkage are made of metal to ensure a long service life. The maintenance effort is also pleasantly low thanks to LED lighting, simple housing disassembly and holes in the circuit board and gearbox cover for relubricating the motor bearings and worms.
