About the model: Brawa is presenting the DB AG TWINDEXX Vario® IC2 double-decker center car, 1st class, in a scale of 1:87. With a complete interior, including the driver's cab, this car is an excellent addition to your model railroad.

About the prototype: Intercity 2 (IC 2) is the new name for the TWINDEXX-Vario® trains used by DB Fernverkehr since the timetable change on 13.12.2015. The TWINDEXX-Vario® is a further development of the tried-and-tested double-decker platform from Görlitz. Each train has 468 seats, 70 of which are in 1st class, as well as 10 bicycle stands. The maximum permissible speed of the trains is 160 km/h. Back in 2010, Bombardier Transportation received an initial order for 27 five-car double-decker trains in combination with class 146.5 locomotives from a framework agreement concluded in advance with DB AG for a total of 800 double-decker coaches. In the meantime, 69 train units with a total of 328 individual wagons have been called off from this framework agreement. In DB Fernverkehr's long-distance transport concept, the IC 2 trains will gradually increase the capacity of long-distance transport and replace existing IC trains. As of the beginning of 2019, the IC 2 trains are already operating on the following routes Leipzig - Norddeich Mole Dresden - Cologne Koblenz - Norddeich Mole Stuttgart - Singen Karlsruhe - Nuremberg and more are planned.
