Description

A Modern Addition to Your Metronom Train – Brawa 44595 H0 Double-Deck Center Car Dbdpza, Era VI

Want to realistically expand your regional train? The Brawa 44595 H0 Double-Deck Center Car Dbdpza, Metronom, Era VI is a superbly detailed model for anyone who wants to faithfully recreate the modern Metronom RE 3. This non-digital middle car fits perfectly into any DC H0 layout and impresses with its high-quality craftsmanship and true-to-life appearance.

Prototype-accurate model of the RE 3

With the road number 50 80 96-73 510-7, this middle car is assigned to the RE 3 Regional Express from Hamburg Central Station. The model is built to an exact scale of 1:87 and has a length over buffers of 303 mm, ensuring realistic integration into existing Metronom train sets. It is based on the well-known TWINDEXX Vario® system, which characterizes modern double-decker trains with high capacity and comfort.

Lighting & ZugBUS Compatibility

The car is designed for analog operation but includes digital preparations for ZugBUS functions in future digital operation. These include illuminated destination displays, an illuminated driver’s cab, and warm-white LED interior lighting. The red/white light cycle changes in the direction of travel—ideal for realistic nighttime runs or station scenes.

High-Quality Construction & Detailing

The body is made of sturdy, impact-resistant plastic and features a metal base plate for added stability. Precisely fitted windows, printed window frames, separately attached windshield wipers, and multi-piece bogies ensure a prototypical appearance. The paint scheme is perfectly matched to the BRAWA TRAXX BR 146.5 electric locomotive.

The Prototype: Double-Deck Trains Through Northern Germany

The modern Metronom trains are based on Bombardier’s TWINDEXX Vario® concept. They offer 468 seats, 70 of which are in first class, and reach speeds of 160 km/h. They are used, among other routes, on the RE 3 line, which connects Hamburg with the surrounding region—a prime example of efficient regional rail service.

For analog model railroaders seeking realistic models

The Brawa 44595 middle car is ideal for anyone who wants to expand their Metronom train without digital technology—or is looking for an analog entry into the modern Era VI. Even without a decoder, the model impresses with its excellent craftsmanship and meticulous attention to detail.
