Historical Prototype with Everyday History

During scheduled inspections, the DRG began dismantling brakeman’s cabs on passenger cars early on—only the necessary handbrake mechanism was retained for legal reasons. Nevertheless, many cars with brakeman’s cabs survived World War II and continued to be used both by the DR and later in the fleets of both German railway administrations. Typical modifications of that era included replacing the Bachmann caps with more modern Wendler suction cups and removing the exterior toilet doors.

Detailed model reproduction

The Brawa model stands out for its meticulous printing and paintwork, as well as numerous separately added details. The interior fittings are factory-installed, and the car is prepared for optional interior lighting—perfect for atmospheric nighttime or twilight scenes. With multiple handrails, individually crafted vents, and a multi-part bogie, this model combines finer details with a realistic operational appearance.

This car is ideally suited for classic passenger trains, mixed-use passenger trains, or as part of historic museum trains. Thanks to its close-coupling mechanism, the car can be easily integrated into tight curves (R360) and harmonizes with locomotives and cars from Era II.
