The Brawa 45620 H0 sleeping car A is a detailed reproduction of an early sleeping car of the Royal Württemberg State Railways (K.W.St.E.). This car was specially designed for the growing demand for comfortable night trains and impresses with its fine detailing, filigree add-on parts and prototypical paintwork. With the option of retrofitting interior lighting, this model is perfectly suited for operation on historical model railroad layouts of Era I.
In 1883, the K.W.St.E. received a total of ten passenger coaches from Maschinenfabrik Esslingen, which had a Prussian appearance thanks to their striking skylight roof. Originally equipped with seats in 1st and 2nd class, some of these coaches were later converted into sleeping cars in order to meet the increasing demand for night trains. These conversions made the coaches recognizable from afar, as their paint scheme differed significantly from regular passenger coaches.
The Brawa 45620 was manufactured with the greatest care and precision in order to perfectly reproduce the intricate details of the original. Particularly noteworthy are the attached grab rails and steps, which are extremely stable despite their low material thickness. The multi-part brake system with brake shoes at wheel level ensures that the technical components are faithfully reproduced. Another special feature is the finely perforated roof support, which further emphasizes the historic character of this wagon.
The model has a factory-fitted interior that authentically reflects its historical use as a sleeping car. The car is also prepared for interior lighting, which can be retrofitted with the BRAWA order number 2212. The close coupling kinematics according to NEM allows prototypical coupling with other cars.
For model railroaders who would like to use the model on AC systems, Brawa offers a suitable AC wheel set (order number 2182) and an AC slider (order number 2222). This means that the sleeping car can be easily adapted for both DC and AC systems.
With a length over buffers of 129 mm and a minimum radius of 360 mm, the model is ideal for operation on classic H0 layouts. Thanks to the precisely manufactured bogies and stable construction, the car runs particularly smoothly and true to the original.
The Brawa 45620 H0 sleeping car A combines classic elegance with technical sophistication and offers excellent detailing for model railroaders who specialize in Era I. With the option of retrofitting interior lighting and flexible use in AC and DC operation, this car is a valuable addition to any historic model railroad collection.
