The K.W.St.E. C4 passenger car brings the charm and design philosophy of the 19th century directly to your model railroad layout. With its open platform design and authentic signs of wear, this four-axle car is an indispensable highlight for Era I enthusiasts.
Württemberg was the only German state railway that consistently followed the “American System” in the early years of railroad construction. Between 1845 and 1867, 181 of these third-class cars were built—featuring a center-aisle layout with open boarding platforms. They were later modernized several times, receiving, among other things, restrooms and additional windows. In 1907, they were reclassified as the new 4th class (D4i) and remained in service with the DRG until the 1930s.
The Brawa model features a fully painted body complete with soot marks, attached handrails and steps, as well as finely reproduced side panels. Thanks to the wheel sets’ axle-end bearings and high-quality craftsmanship, the car is ideal for discerning, history-conscious modelers.
