Designed as a trailer car for electric multiple units on the Silesian rail network, the Cidel-24 tells the story of a special chapter in German railway history. The Brawa 45825 brings this historic vehicle to your Era II layout with precise detailing and high collector’s value.
The DRG commissioned the development of the so-called “1921 Branch Line Car Series” as a lighter variant of its “Donnerbüchsen” (thunder guns). However, due to limited funds, only a few cars were produced. Of the 40 Di-24 (renamed Cid-24 in 1928), eleven were equipped starting in 1931 with electric control cables for push-pull operation—for use on the Zackenbahn. There, together with electric railcars, they transported summer hikers and winter sports enthusiasts to the Giant Mountains.
The car impresses with its fine engravings, numerous separately attached parts, and a prototypical undercarriage. The interior is depicted in detail, and the windows and roof vents are precisely fitted. The platform railings, steps, and coupling mechanisms meet the highest standards for an authentic replica.
