The Pwiel-29 from the Deutsche Reichsbahn-Gesellschaft is a distinctive baggage car designed for use on branch lines during Era II. With its open platform, sliding door, and compact design, it perfectly complements train formations featuring passenger cars from the 1920s and 1930s. Whether used for storing luggage or winter sports equipment—this car was highly versatile, especially for seasonal excursion service.
Unlike larger baggage cars designed for main lines, the Pwiel-29—of which only seven were built—had only a sliding door and access via the open platform. All vehicles were later converted for use as railcars and operated alongside matching passenger cars. Especially during the winter season, the additional storage space was a welcome bonus for transporting luggage and sports equipment.
The Brawa model impresses with a multitude of separately applied parts, such as roof vents, handrails made of impact-resistant plastic, bearing caps, and delicate steps. The detailed undercarriage, along with the prototype-accurate platform railing and the replica of the electric coupler, round out the appearance. Precisely fitted windows and interior fittings add to the authenticity of everyday operation on your model railroad.
