Description

Brawa 46197 H0 Passenger Car C4üpwe "DER Ferienexpress", DB, Era III - A classic of German express train service

The Brawa 46197 H0 passenger car C4üpwe "DER Ferienexpress" is an exact reproduction of a classic express train car of the German Federal Railroad (DB) from Era III. With prototypical details, fine paintwork and a multi-colored interior, this model brings the charm of the post-war period to your model railroad layout. The exactly reproduced bogies, a complete brake system and large, prototypical windows make this car an enrichment for historical train compositions.

The prototype: Four-axle express train coaches for long-distance services

In order to improve travel comfort in passenger trains, the Deutsche Reichsbahn-Gesellschaft (DRG ) began procuring new, comfortable coaches in the 1920s. These four-axle through coaches, which were built in series from 1930, had spacious seats, large windows and improved running smoothness. Even after the Second World War, many of these coaches continued to be used by the Deutsche Bundesbahn. They remained in service until the 1970s and some were converted into sleeping, dining, buffet and half-luggage carriages.

The Ferienexpress - vacation on rails

In the 1950s and 1960s, these carriages played a major role in vacation travel. The "Ferienexpress" was a specially designed train that took travelers comfortably to their vacation destinations. The large windows provided a wonderful view of the countryside and the passenger areas were spacious and comfortable. Thanks to their robust construction, these carriages were ideal for long-distance journeys across Germany and beyond.

Detailed reproduction based on a historical model

The Brawa 46197 impresses with the highest model building quality. Particularly noteworthy are the precisely reproduced Görlitz III lightweight bogies with quadruple suspension, a complete reproduction of the brake system and the prototypically riveted roof construction. The multi-colored interior with individual seats ensures a realistic representation of the interior.

Technical equipment and lighting options

The model has built-in interior fittings and is prepared for retrofitting interior lighting(BRAWA order number 2212). The large window area provides an excellent view into the car, which is particularly effective with lighting. Thanks to the close coupling kinematics according to NEM, several cars can be coupled realistically.

Flexibility thanks to AC wheelset option

The model can be used on AC systems. An AC wheel set (BRAWA order number 2188) and an AC slider (BRAWA order number 2222) are available for this purpose, so that the model can be easily adapted to different model railroad systems.

Driving behavior and minimum radius

Thanks to the three-point bearing and the metal axle bearings, the model offers particularly smooth running characteristics. With a length over buffers of 239.8 mm and a minimum radius of 360 mm, this wagon is perfect for operation on H0 layouts with historical trains.

Conclusion: A perfect addition for Era III train sets

The Brawa 46197 H0 passenger car C4üpwe "THE Holiday Express" combines the highest level of detail with historical authenticity. The fine printing, high-quality workmanship and the option of interior lighting make this model an excellent choice for model railroaders interested in the classic express trains of the 1950s and 1960s.
