The Brawa 46202 H0 C4üpwe "DER Ferienexpress" passenger car is a detailed reproduction of a classic German Federal Railroad (DB) passenger car from Era III. This car was part of the famous Ferienexpress trains that were used in organized tourist traffic in the 1950s and 1960s. With authentic interior lighting and a detailed replica, this model offers a perfect representation of the travel comfort of that time.
In the 1920s, the Deutsche Reichsbahn-Gesellschaft (DRG) began to modernize its express and passenger train services and to increase travel comfort. Four-axle compartment coaches, such as the Ferienexpress, were increasingly used on long-distance routes, especially on tourist trains. These carriages were characterized by a comfortable seating arrangement, large windows and spacious interiors, which were suitable for comfortable travel over longer distances. These coaches remained an indispensable part of regional transportation in the 1960s and were used in various European countries.
The Brawa 46202 impresses with numerous fine details. These include the precisely reproduced Görlitz III lightweight bogies with quadruple suspension and the realistic reproduction of the brake system. The multi-colored interior with individual seats and the precisely fitted windows ensure an authentic representation of the car interior. The car is also equipped with close coupling kinematics, which makes it easy to couple several cars.
The model is prepared for interior lighting, which can be retrofitted with BRAWA order number 2212. The lighting ensures that the interior of the model appears in a warm light and that the windows and the rows of seats are shown to their best advantage. The model also has a solderable interface for easy integration into digital systems. The car model is designed for direct current (DC) operation and offers smooth and stable running characteristics thanks to the three-point bearings and metal axle bearings.
Although this model is designed for use on DC systems, Brawa also offers options for AC operation. However, AC wheelset replacement is not recommended as the model has been specially optimized for DC systems. However, an AC slider (BRAWA order number 2222) can be retrofitted if the car is to be used on an AC system.
With a length over buffers of 239.8 mm and a minimum radius of 360 mm, this car is suitable for use on all standard H0 layouts. The metal wheels ensure realistic running characteristics, while the construction using high-quality materials makes the wagon stable and durable.
