The Brawa 48372 H0 freight train baggage car Pwg of the BBÖ in Era III takes us back to the 1920s, when hand-braked freight trains were still commonplace on German railroads. The crew, consisting of train driver, packmaster, train conductor, shunter and brakeman, found their home in this rolling office and recreation room behind the locomotive. While the brakemen took their place in the brakeman's cabins, the accompanying coach was the hub for braking, shunting and processing freight documents en route. In 1913/14, the KPEV set a new standard with the model sheet pr IIa13a, which was followed by most German state railroads after the First World War. By 1929, over 7000 of these Pwg wagons were in use not only in Prussia, but also in Baden, Bavaria, Württemberg and Saxony. The DRB modified the coaches in the 1930s for safety reasons and reinforced them before the Second World War to meet the challenges of the time. The Brawa Pwg of the BBÖ brings this fascinating railroad history to your model layout in true detail.
