Description

The BRAWA 49304 H0 acid tank wagon, Era IV was chosen as the winner in the "Golden Track" competition in the freight wagon category by the railroad publishing group.

Tank cars were unsuitable for transporting acids for a long time. The regulations therefore stipulated that tank wagons were used to transport such goods. For this purpose, the wagon construction companies usually used the undercarriage of the composite type with a 4.00 m or 4.50 m wheelbase and arranged ten or twelve earthenware pots with a capacity of 1000 - 1200 on top. Many chemical companies had hired such wagons from the respective railroad directorate as private wagons. In the FRG, Degussa donated its last pot wagon to the Bochum-Dahlhausen Railway Museum in 1985. DR pot wagons could still be seen in use in 1990.
