The Brawa 50086 H0 gas tank car ZZd of the Deutsche Reichsbahn-Gesellschaft (DRG) from Era II, labeled "Ammoniakwerk Merseburg", is based on a model that was delivered by the Fuchs wagon factory in 1941. These 6-axle gas tank wagons had a length over buffers of 14.6 m and a tank volume of 42.5 m³, which made them larger than the comparable tank wagons for acids. They were used to transport butane and propane. The Deutsche Reichsbahn used the wagons in West Germany, where some of them were transferred to the private wagon hire company VTG, while in East Germany they were used directly by the Reichsbahn. In order to protect the gas in the tank from excessive heating due to solar radiation, some wagons were fitted with a sun canopy. On the Reichsbahn Ost wagons, the boiler access was modified so that it could only be reached from the handbrake platform.
