Brawa 50092 H0 Gaskesselwagen ZZd, DB, Ep.III 'VTG' Product Details

Description

The Brawa 50092 H0 gas tank car ZZd, DB, Ep.III 'VTG' is a model that represents the historic gas tank cars of the German State Railroad from the year 1941. These cars were built by the Heidelberg company Waggonfabrik Fuchs and were the first gas tank cars with six axles. With a length over buffers of 14.6 meters and a tank volume of 42.5 m³, they were significantly larger than the tank wagons for acids built at the same time. The wagons were used to transport butane and propane. In West Germany, they were often handed over to the private wagon hire company VTG after the war, while in the East they remained directly with the Deutsche Reichsbahn. To prevent excessive heating and increased pressure in the tank due to solar radiation, many wagons were fitted with a sun canopy. In addition, the boiler ladder on the Reichsbahn East cars was modified so that it was no longer accessible from the sides, but only from the handbrake platform. The Brawa 50092 model offers a detailed reproduction of these historic cars and is especially suitable for model railroad enthusiasts who are interested in the technology and history of rail traffic.
