Brawa 50093 H0 Gas Tank Car ZZdw, DR, Ep.IV 'VEB Leuna-Werke': In 1941, the Heidelberg company Waggonfabrik Fuchs delivered the first 6-axle gas tank cars to the German State Railroad. With a length over buffers of 14.6 m and a tank volume of 42.5 m³, these wagons were significantly larger than their acid counterparts. They were designed for the transportation of gases such as butane and propane. While the West German wagons were later used privately by VTG, the East German wagons remained with the Deutsche Reichsbahn. To protect them from overheating due to solar radiation, some wagons were fitted with a sun canopy. A conversion of the boiler ladder meant that access was only possible from the handbrake platform.
