The Brawa 50153 H0 Gmms 40 covered freight car, DB, Ep.III 'Kali' is a model of the UIC standard car from the 1950s that is based on the internationally standardized construction principles that were introduced by the International Union of Railways (UIC) in 1949. From 1957, the Deutsche Bundesbahn put the first genuine UIC standard wagons into service, including the Gmm(e)hs 56, and marked them with the RIV St UIC inscription. The Gmms 40 is an example of the further developed wagons that were created from older wagon parts in several conversion programs and were characteristic of freight transport in Europe. These wagons were used from the 1960s until the 1990s and, with over 100,000 built, can be found in almost every freight train.
