Brawa 50407 Gedeckter Güterwagen GGh, DR, Ep.IV Product Details

Description

About the model: The DR GGh boxcar is from Era IV and shines with a detailed look and selected features such as extra details and brake shoes at wheel level. The model has a length of 189.6 mm and has the road number "01 50 199 2098-0".

About the prototype: The German Federal Railroad did not procure any four-axle boxcars. In contrast, these were an important part of the DR freight car fleet. Based on developments during the war, various types of four-axle, covered freight wagons were created, which were procured in large numbers. At the end of the development was the GGhrsz type, which was procured from 1966. These wagons were later designated as Gagmrs-v, then as Gags (type code number 1992). With this design, the final form of the four-axle, covered wagons of the Deutsche Reichsbahn was found. They were therefore procured in large numbers. The vehicles had a length of 16.52 m and a load capacity of 57 tons. The body was welded together from sheet metal and the floor was made of wood. After reunification, these wagons were not included in the common freight wagon fleet, but some continued to be used as private wagons.
