The Brawa 50498 H0 CFL Kuw boxcar from Era III is based on the large boxcars that were redesigned according to the DRG replacement design principles. These wagons, which were originally based on the types used by the German State Railway Wagon Association, were particularly suitable for light, large-volume goods such as the products of the glass industry. They retained the main dimensions of their predecessors, including the wheelbase and the length over buffers, as well as the two-metre wide doors that opened to the right. New features were the riveted truss, which enabled a lower design of the long girder, and the barrel-shaped roof in contrast to the basket arch of the predecessors. Some cars had hand brakes with a brakeman's cab or gauge change wheel sets for the transition to the Russian broad gauge, recognizable by the white-painted buffer sleeves and the secondary class mark "r". The cars were assigned to the "Dresden" class and were used extensively on various European railroads after 1945 and were not taken out of service until the 1980s.
