Would you like to faithfully recreate your 1990s freight train formations? The Brawa 50621 Fals 186 brings a piece of railroad history to your model railroad layout—robust, true to the prototype, and perfect for bulk freight transport in Era V.
With a length over buffers of 137 mm and close-coupling mechanism, this car is ideal for long freight trains. The fine printing and paint finish, multi-part braking system with brake shoes at wheel level, and separately attached signal holders underscore the model’s high quality. Road number: 83 80 665 9 001-3.
The Fals 186 series evolved from the Fads/Fals designs of the 1970s. These were modernized for Era V and adapted to new operational requirements. Equipped with BA 664 or Y25 bogies, they remained a central component of freight transport under the new DB AG, carrying moisture-resistant bulk goods such as coal, coke, or ore.
The cars usually operated in long block trains to power plants, industrial facilities, or inland ports. Typical hauls were performed with BR 140 and BR 151 locomotives, or—increasingly from the mid-1990s onward—with the BR 185, traversing the entire German and European rail network.
The car combines excellently with other Fals-186 models or Falns, Eas, and Eanos cars from the same era. It can also be used in mixed block trains or as a single car in regular freight service.
The Brawa 50621 combines solid engineering with a modern look—a must-have for anyone who values prototypical train sets and operational realism.
