Are you looking for a distinctive self-unloading car for DB AG’s current day-to-day operations? With the Brawa 50627 Fals 186, you’ll add a versatile model to your layout—ideal for bulk freight transport in Era VI, drawing on a proven design tradition.
The car measures 137 mm over buffers and is equipped with NEM-compliant close-coupling mechanism. The multi-part braking system with brake shoes at wheel level, fine printing and paintwork, as well as separately attached signal holders round out the high-quality appearance. Road number: 81 80 665 9 044-4.
The Fals 186 is based on the Fads/Fals cars that were procured for the Deutsche Bundesbahn starting in 1969. In the 1990s, many of these cars were modernized, technically upgraded, and continued to be used under the direction of DB AG. They are still used today to transport bulk goods such as coal or ore—preferably in block trains consisting of similar cars.
Fals-186 cars often run on fixed routes, hauled by modern locomotives such as the BR 185, BR 187, or Vectron. They transport raw materials from port terminals to power plants or industrial centers—across Germany and Europe.
The car complements realistic train sets for Era VI—whether as a complete block train or in a mixed formation. Can be combined with other bulk freight cars, flat cars, or container cars in current operational scenarios.
The Brawa 50627 embodies proven technology in a modern design—robust, precision-crafted, and ready for today’s everyday model railroading.
