Are you looking for an authentic self-unloading car for Era VI on your model railroad? The Brawa 50628 Fals 186 represents the contemporary evolution of the proven Fals designs—used by DB AG for the reliable transport of coal, ore, and coke in heavy freight service.
With a length over buffers of 137 mm and close-coupling kinematics, the car is ideally suited for tightly packed train formations. The fine printing and paint finish in the current DB AG livery, multi-part braking system with brake shoes at wheel level, and separately attached signal holders guarantee a prototypical appearance. Road number: 81 80 665 9 037-8.
The Fals 186 type is based on the Fads/Fals 175–177 cars introduced in the 1970s. These were later modernized, equipped with new bogies such as the Y25, and transferred to the DB AG fleet. They remain in service today for bulk freight transport—particularly on coal trains for power plants or in the construction materials sector.
These cars are primarily operated in fixed rotations—often as block trains consisting of several dozen cars. Whether hauled by Traxx, Vectron, or classic BR 151 locomotives, the Fals 186 is a quintessential car of modern freight logistics on German railways.
Can be combined with other modern self-unloading cars or older Fals models in transitional service. Perfect for loading facilities, industrial sidings, or power plant operations. Can also be used as a mixed train with Falns cars or modern pocket cars.
The Brawa 50628 combines a classic design with a contemporary finish—ideal for model railroaders who want to combine current operational dynamics with historical roots.
