Would you like to recreate realistic heavy-haul trains carrying coal, coke, or ore on your model railroad? With the Brawa 50690 Fads 175 from the Deutsche Bundesbahn, you get a typical vehicle for bulk freight transport from Era IV—authentically, robustly, and high-quality crafted.
The car is 137 mm long over buffers and equipped with close-coupling kinematics. A realistic appearance is ensured by the multi-part braking system with brake shoes at wheel level, separately attached signal brackets, and the fine printing and paint finish. Road number: 31 80 696 2 856-4.
Starting in 1969, the DB introduced several types of modern self-unloading cars. The Fads 175 was built in accordance with UIC Leaflet 571.3 and differed from the Fads 176 primarily in its hatch latches. Designed with robust bogies of types 664, 664.1, or later Y25, the car was intended for the heaviest loads in block train service—particularly for ore and coal transport.
The Fads 175 were primarily used in 50-car trains—for example, between the Port of Emden and the steel mills in the Ruhr and Saar regions. With a total weight of up to 4,000 metric tons, these trains were usually hauled by two Class 043/044 steam locomotives until 1977—an impressive sight on the Emsland Line.
Ideal for combining with other Fads, Fals, or Fal cars. Complement your train with typical locomotives such as the BR 044, BR 151, or BR 232 to faithfully recreate the freight traffic of the 1970s.
The Brawa 50690 brings a significant piece of DB heavy-haul history into your H0 world—with excellent model quality and high fidelity to the prototype for everyone who loves bulk freight transport with character.
