The Brawa 50807 H0 new construction tank car Zas, Wiebe, Ep. VI 'water car': In the 1970s, when the GDR wagon construction industry was primarily producing for export, the Deutsche Reichsbahn needed replacements for its aging wagon fleet. To meet this need, the DR acquired around 1,250 new Uahs tank wagons from France from 1975 onwards. These four-axle mineral oil tank wagons, with a capacity of 85,150 liters, were designed for transporting fuels such as petrol and diesel. They had a welded underframe, Y25Cs bogies and a modern KE-GP air brake with handbrake. These wagons were not only used in the GDR, but also in international trade, especially in the non-socialist economic area (NSW).
