The BRAWA 50898 H0 train set N 2570 is the perfect choice for model railroaders who want to recreate the historic local traffic of the German Federal Railroad(DB) of Era IV with the latest technology. This train set combines the iconic class 212 diesel locomotive with three realistically designed n-cars and has numerous digital features such as built-in sound, a digital hook coupling and a digitally switchable fan. Experience the sound and dynamics of 1970s local traffic on your model railway layout.
From the 1960s, the German Federal Railroad relied on the reversible diesel locomotives of the V100.20/212 series and the modern n-cars to modernize local transport and make it more efficient. The Wuppertal-Steinbeck depot was one of the first to switch to diesel locomotives as early as 1953. Train N 2570 was a regular local train that ran on the line from Remscheid Hbf to Wuppertal-Vohwinkel in 1974 and was known for its reliable connection to the challenging main and branch lines of the Bergisches Land region.
The combination of the robust diesel locomotive and the comfortable n-cars enabled smooth operation and replaced the previously used steam locomotives and pre-war cars. The N 2570 train set is therefore an ideal example of the change in local transportation in Era IV.
The train set consists of the class 212 diesel locomotive with the road number 212 097-0 and three realistically reproduced passenger coaches:
The model is designed for the nominal scale H0 (1:87) and is equipped with a PluX22 interface. It has a built-in Döhler+Haass decoder that enables operation in the digital system. The train can run on a minimum radius of 360 mm and is therefore also suitable for smaller layouts. The locomotive is equipped with a flywheel and two traction tires to ensure optimum running characteristics.
A special highlight of this set is the built-in sound decoder, which reproduces realistic operating sounds such as engine noise, brake squeal and signal horns. The digital hook coupling enables the cars to be coupled and uncoupled automatically, which considerably extends the fun and operating options. In addition, a digitally switchable fan is built in for added authenticity.
The diesel locomotive is equipped with a three-light headlight and two red marker lights that change automatically depending on the direction of travel. The LED light sources ensure maintenance-free and energy-saving lighting. The n-cars are also equipped with interior lighting that can be controlled via the decoder and makes the model look particularly impressive in twilight scenarios.
The class 212 diesel locomotive impresses with numerous details such as fine engravings, individually attached components and precisely printed road numbers. The n-type carriages are also reproduced true to detail and have authentic interior fittings as well as finely crafted door and window sections. The combination of locomotive and cars forms a realistic reproduction of the N 2570 commuter train.
Era IV (1970-1990) was characterized by modernization and rationalization. During this time, the German Federal Railroad increasingly relied on diesel and electric locomotives to make operations more efficient and economical. The N 2570 train set perfectly reflects these developments and offers the opportunity to recreate authentic train scenarios from this exciting era.
The BRAWA 50898 H0 train set N 2570 with DC sound extra is the ideal choice for model railroaders who want to experience the local traffic of the 1970s in a realistic and digital form. The combination of detailed reproduction, excellent running characteristics and state-of-the-art digital features makes this set a real highlight on any model railway layout. The integrated sound effects, the digital hook coupling and the switchable fan guarantee an impressive playing experience.
