The BRAWA 50899 H0 train set N 2570 offers a unique combination of nostalgic railroad romance and state-of-the-art digital technology. The class 212 diesel locomotive in combination with three authentic n-cars forms a typical picture of the local traffic of the German Federal Railroad(DB) in Era IV. From the 1960s, the German Federal Railroad relied on reversible diesel locomotives of the V100.20/212 series and the modern n-cars to make local transport more efficient. The Wuppertal-Steinbeck depot played a central role in this modernization phase, as it switched to diesel locomotives as early as 1953.
In 1974, train N 2570 ran regularly on the line from Remscheid main station to Wuppertal-Vohwinkel and was an important connection in the mountainous terrain of the Bergisches Land region. The combination of the robust diesel locomotive and the comfortable n-cars ensured reliable and efficient operation.

The model is designed for the nominal scale H0 (1:87) and for operation on alternating current systems(3-wire AC). It is equipped with a Döhler+Haass decoder that allows operation with digital sound. The minimum passable radius is 360 mm so that the set can also be used on compact layouts without any problems. The locomotive has two traction tires and flywheels, which ensure excellent driving characteristics.
The integrated sound decoder provides realistic sounds such as the engine noise of the diesel locomotive, squealing brakes and signal horns. A special highlight is the digital hook coupling, which enables automatic coupling and uncoupling. The locomotive also has a digitally switchable fan, which makes operation even more authentic.
The diesel locomotive is equipped with a three-light headlights and two red marker lights that change automatically depending on the direction of travel. The LED light sources ensure maintenance-free and long-lasting lighting. The n-cars are also equipped with interior lighting that can be controlled via the decoder and makes the train look particularly impressive in darkened scenarios.
The class 212 diesel locomotive is equipped with numerous finely detailed elements such as fan grilles, grab rails and precise engravings. The n-cars are characterized by their authentic interior design and the typical design of the Silberlinge. All printing, including the road numbers and DB logos, is crisp and prototypical.
Era IV (1970-1990) was characterized by the gradual modernization and rationalization of rail transport. During this time, steam locomotives were gradually replaced by diesel and electric locomotives. The N 2570 train set perfectly reflects this development and can be ideally combined with other vehicles from Era IV.
