The Brawa 50983 H0 Deutsche Bahn (DB) covered freight wagon Tnfhs38 from Era III, labeled "Holsten", is based on a simplified refrigerated wagon model developed in 1942. The Tnf Berlin (Tnfs38) wagons, with a basic design similar to the previously developed Glmhs Dresden, were fitted with 300 mm thick insulation and an inner lining of zinc sheet to protect the wooden lining against moisture. The vertical boarding and white paint were striking. From the mid-1950s, the Bundesbahn modernized the wagons it had taken over by replacing the high-maintenance plain bearings with roller bearings and rebuilding wagon bodies with inadequate insulation values. The original board cladding was replaced by horizontal boards or plywood panels. These modernized wagons were later used by private breweries for the transport of beer, often with the company's own advertising.
