Brawa 50999 H0 Teleskophaubenwagen Shimmns 708, DR, Ep.IV Product Details

Description

The Brawa 50999 H0 Shimmns 708 telescopic hood wagon is a detailed model of a special flat wagon from the 1970s, developed for the safe transportation of sheet steel coils that are sensitive to moisture. Coils are susceptible to corrosion and must be protected from moisture. The real trolley has three interlocking hoods, but these cannot be moved in the model. The model takes into account many design differences and offers variants with parking and hand brakes. It has numerous extra details and a three-point bearing for safe operation. Different bogies of several types as well as the variant-specific arrangement of the address panels are also available. The German Federal Railroad ordered over 2,500 of these cars, and the actual number is larger due to orders from other state railroads and leasing companies. From 2002, the hoods of 1,000 wagons were replaced by sliding tarpaulins and these were re-designated as Shimmns-ttu 772. Some wagons are still in use in their original condition with private hirers. The model in H0 scale (1:87) is ideal for model railroad enthusiasts who want to realistically recreate the freight traffic of Era IV (approx. 1965-1990).
