Are you looking for a covered freight car for your H0 layout that combines the classic DB freight train atmosphere with eye-catching PEZ lettering? The Brawa 51138 H0 Covered Freight Car Gmms44 "PEZ," DB, Era III is a finely detailed model for Deutsche Bundesbahn freight trains and is ideal for prototypical Era III layouts.
The model bears the road number 271 352 and reflects the development of UIC standard freight cars. These car types shaped European freight transport for many decades and were frequently found in mixed freight trains, general cargo services, and station areas.
In 1949, the International Union of Railways (UIC) established its own research and development institute, the ORE. Based on the design principles developed there, European railway administrations created their own variants of two-axle standard freight cars.
Starting in 1957, the Deutsche Bundesbahn put the Gmm(e)hs 56 into service—the first true UIC standard cars. Subsequent modernization programs resulted in the Gmms 44, Gmm(eh)s 60, Gmms 40, and 216 car types, among others.
This H0 model features metal wheels, metal axle boxes, separately attached handrails, and axle box covers. The multi-part braking system, brake shoes at wheel level, and the prototypical braking system on the car floor ensure a harmonious appearance within the train set.
Get the Brawa 51138 H0 Gmms44 "PEZ" Covered Freight Car and expand your DB freight train fleet with a distinctive Era III car featuring precise detailing and special advertising lettering.
